Overview

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Yarmouk University was established in 2021 and offers a Bachelor degree of Science in Engineering Technology with a major in Mechanical Engineering/Design Technology.

The Mechanical Engineering program strives to graduate mechanical engineers of the highest quality, learning and engaging through the creation, dissemination and application of engineering methods, knowledge and professional standards relevant to the practice of mechanical engineering in many aspects of modern life where it plays a critical role.

Objectives

• The educational objectives of the Department of Mechanical Engineering / Design Technology are looking to enhance the educational mission of the university and the college, which is in line with the academic accreditation requirements of ABET for American engineering and technology.
• Graduates of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Design Technology are qualified with the following capabilities (educational objectives for the major).
• Work efficiently and excel as professional engineers in the tasks of design, scientific research, development and testing in the areas of mechanical design.
• The ability to enroll in postgraduate programs in mechanical engineering subjects and in other related subjects, through getting used to the pace of life-long learning and continuing to familiarize themselves with the latest developments in mechanical engineering techniques.
• The ability to innovate and develop while adhering to the ethical behaviors of the profession and working to serve development in the Kingdom and the surrounding region by holding leadership positions in various work sectors.
