About the Program
The Bachelor in Computer Engineering degree program at the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology was established in 1993. The program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org, under the General Criteria and the Electrical, Computer, Communications, Telecommunications Engineering Program Criteria. It is designed to prepare students for careers in the rapidly evolving fields of computing, software, and information technology by integrating both hardware and software engineering principles.
The curriculum offers comprehensive coverage of core areas such as programming, digital systems, computer networks, embedded systems, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. It includes a two-term graduation project, allowing students to apply their learning to real-world problems in computing and technology innovation.
A key element of the program is the mandatory four-month full-time practical training (six credit hours) with leading technology firms in Jordan and abroad. This hands-on experience, closely monitored by faculty, bridges the gap between classroom knowledge and industry practice.
Graduates of the program are well-prepared to enter diverse fields such as software development, IT infrastructure, AI, embedded systems, and cybersecurity, or pursue advanced studies in computer engineering and related disciplines.
