
Yarmouk University Achieves First Place in the 21st National Sumo Robot Competition
Yarmouk University, through its Robotics Team comprised of students from the Hijjawi Faculty of Engineering Technology and the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science, achieved first place among Jordanian universities in the 21st National Sumo Robot Competition in the Best Programming category.
The team delivered an outstanding performance in programming, innovation, and practical application, qualifying them for first place in the competition hosted by the University of Applied Sciences.
The team consists of students Sarah Al-Badr, Ibrahim Rababa’a, Mohammad Anaqra, and Majd Badour, supervised by Dr. Shadi Al-Laboun from the Hijjawi Faculty of Engineering Technology.
The Dean of the Hijjawi Faculty of Engineering Technology, Professor Awad Al-Zaben, expressed his pride in this achievement, which embodies the excellence of the university's students and their ability to compete in technical and innovative fields. He explained that this victory is a continuation of Yarmouk University's commitment to supporting student creativity and motivating students to excel in engineering and technology. He praised the role of academic supervision and the high level shown by the team during the stages of the competition, expressing his thanks to the Career Rehabilitation Center of the Hisham Hijjawi Scientific Foundation for its continuous support for the students, and its role in enabling them to participate in such activities and competitions, which contribute to enhancing their practical skills and raising their readiness for the labor market.
