Department of Architecture Organizes Urban Planning Workshop
The Department of Architecture, in collaboration with the Cluster team, organized a specialized workshop titled “Urban Planning”, hosting architect Nashwa Al-Suboh on Thursday, 13/11, targeting students of Architectural Design 5.
Architect Nashwa began the workshop by discussing how cities are designed and planned to create a balance between people and the built environment. She explained the conceptual foundations of urban planning and the importance of developing sustainable cities that respond to social and environmental needs. She then guided the students through the journey from the initial concept to producing the Master Plan, presenting examples from various projects.
During the workshop, Dr. Zaid Al-Deek delivered an insightful intervention that enriched the discussion and broadened the students’ understanding of contemporary urban planning principles.
An engaging discussion took place at the end, where students posed thoughtful questions that enhanced the workshop and deepened their understanding of the topic.
