
Hijjawi Faculty Participates in IEEE AESS SYP Congress 2025
The Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology at Yarmouk University participated in the IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society (AESS) Students and Young Professionals (SYP) Congress 2025, hosted by Strathmore University in Nairobi, Kenya.
Yarmouk University was represented by Qusai Mashreqi, founder of the IEEE AESS Student Chapter at Yarmouk, and Hassan Abu Sarris, Chair of IEEE AESS at both the university and national levels.
Both Mashreqi and Abu Sarris received scholarships from IEEE AESS Global, enabling their participation in the congress in recognition of their achievements, excellence, and contributions at local and regional levels.
The congress brought together students, young professionals, and experts in aerospace, engineering, and aviation from around the world, aiming to exchange knowledge, learn from technical experts and industry leaders, and expand professional and academic horizons.
The program featured advanced technical workshops and panel discussions delivered by experts and engineers from NASA, European universities, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, and leading aerospace companies.
Dean of the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology, Dr. Mohammad Alzubaidi, praised the students’ participation, describing it as a milestone that adds to Yarmouk University’s distinguished record in research and student activities. He noted that such international involvement refines students’ skills, opens new academic and professional opportunities, and demonstrates Yarmouk students’ ability to compete and excel at the global level.
