On behalf of the Minister of Youth, Dr. Yassin Al-Hleil, Assistant Secretary-General for Technical and Strategic Affairs, sponsored the TEDx Yarmouk University conference, organized by the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology at Yarmouk University. The event featured a distinguished group of Jordanian speakers and an audience that included academic leaders, students, and enthusiasts of culture, creativity, and technology.

In his opening speech, Dr. Al-Hleil emphasized that this conference reflects the young Jordanian identity, weaving passion and excellence into a global platform for everyone. He highlighted that TEDx Yarmouk University represents a unique experience in the north of the Kingdom.

For his part, Dr. Mohammad Alzubaidi, Dean of the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology, expressed his pride in organizing this exceptional event at Yarmouk University. He stressed that TEDx Yarmouk University is not merely an activity but a manifestation of the university’s vision and pioneering role in empowering students and promoting a culture of creativity and community engagement.

He added that the university’s participation in organizing this event stems from its belief that the role of academic institutions is no longer limited to transferring knowledge, but extends to building an environment that fosters critical thinking, experimentation, and entrepreneurship. He also pointed out that Hijjawi Faculty takes pride in not only graduating competent engineers but also in shaping personalities capable of making an impact and serving their communities. Al-Zubaidi praised the tremendous efforts of the 41-student organizing team, acknowledging their role in delivering the event at a level that befits the university. He also expressed his deep gratitude to all the speakers, sponsors, and supporters.

Meanwhile, the conference chairman, student Hassan Abu Sarris, shared that his journey with TEDx began in 2022 as a junior organizer at a small conference. However, his passion drove him to create a deeper and broader experience with TEDx Yarmouk University 2025. He affirmed that what happened today is a youth-driven experience, shaped by a student vision that aims to bring Jordanian voices and inspiring ideas to the world.

The conference showcased a lineup of inspiring speakers with diverse backgrounds and experiences.

It is worth noting that TEDx Yarmouk University is one of the most prominent youth events held in northern Jordan under the official TEDx license. This year, it was held under the theme: "From the Heart of Jordan to the World," embodying the creative Jordanian spirit that strives to make an impact beyond borders.
