Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology secured second place at the 12th National Technology Festival, organized by Al-Hussein Technical University, with wide participation from various Jordanian universities and under the organization of the IEEE Jordan Section.

The festival witnessed strong competition, with more than 400 projects in the initial phase, out of which 107 projects qualified for the final stage after passing the evaluation criteria across various technical categories.

Hijjawi Faculty advanced to the final stage with six student projects, reflecting the college’s academic and research excellence and its leadership in guiding students towards innovative projects with tangible impact.

The "Smart Survival Bed" project won second place at the national level in the Public Safety and Quality of Life category. The project was developed by students Lujain Al-Badawi and Raneem Al-Aswad from the Industrial Engineering Department, under the supervision of Dr. Ghazi Magableh.

The project stands out for providing a smart solution that supports public safety through the use of sensing and control technologies, and it demonstrates the students’ ability to employ engineering skills to serve the community.

For his part, the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Mohammad Alzubaidi, expressed his pride in all the college’s projects reaching the final stage, emphasizing that winning second place is clear evidence of the competence of the students and their ability to innovate in vital fields.

He added: "Hijjawi Faculty believes in the importance of integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application, and the faculty is keen on providing a stimulating environment for creativity and initiative." He stressed that this achievement adds to Hijjawi Faculty’s record of academic and technological excellence.
