Hijjawi Faculty Organizes Workshop on "Designing a Life with Purpose"

The interactive workshop organized by the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology in collaboration with the Hisham Adeeb Hijjawi Scientific Foundation, titled “Designing a Life for Purpose,” was under the patronage of Dr. Mwaffaq Otoom, Vice President of Yarmouk University for Development and Global Rankings. The workshop featured experts from the Swiss company “Real Resilience,” Dr. Christopher Ott and Josia Ott.

Otoom emphasized Yarmouk University’s commitment to developing its students’ skills and enhancing their capabilities, which contributes to refining their personalities, self-development, and enabling them to effectively integrate into the university environment and professional life after graduation.

He praised the effective cooperation between the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology and the Hisham Adeeb Hijjawi Foundation, which has resulted in numerous initiatives and activities positively impacting the faculty’s academic journey and students’ skill levels.

Otoom called on the students participating in the workshop to make the most of its content and embody it in their daily lives through self-development and the ability to make important decisions both personally and professionally.

For his part, the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Mohammad Alzubaidi, said the workshop was organized with the aim of developing students’ abilities in life design methodology, positive psychology, and self-development. It also empowers them to handle decisions related to their personal and professional lives and the values they uphold creatively and innovatively by using design thinking methods.

Alzubaidi praised the efforts of the “Real Resilience” team for supervising the workshop, which provides deep understanding of human growth and development and helps participating students build the resilience needed to overcome challenges and craft a path aligned with their values, passions, and goals.

The workshop activities, attended by 60 students from various departments of the faculty, included collaborative activities, stimulating discussions, and events aimed at creating a platform for youth to discover their individual passions and align them with career paths.

The workshop program also included explanations of concepts related to psychology, neuroscience, strategic thinking, personal development, and practices to develop self-awareness.

It is noteworthy that the workshop coordination and preparation were handled by the Faculty’s Vice Dean, Dr. Dania Bani Hani, and Assistant Dean, Dr. Mohammad Al-Tamimi.
