
Hijjawi Faculty Students Meet with Chairman of Hijjawi Foundation
Prof. Mwaffaq Otoom, Vice President of Yarmouk University for Development and International Rankings, met with students of the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology in Wisam Bshannak Hall, alongside Eng. Ayman Hijjawi, Chairman of the Hisham Adeeb Hijjawi Scientific Foundation, and Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Mohammad Alzubaidi.
In his remarks, Prof. Otoom emphasized the importance of such engaging meetings, which help inspire students and build their confidence. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to developing the Faculty and improving educational quality, stressing the value of integrating academic learning with practical experience.
He also highlighted the Faculty’s efforts in forging strong partnerships with the industrial sector and global companies to provide students with training and employment opportunities at leading engineering firms. He noted the Faculty's focus on entrepreneurship and innovation as essential pillars for student development.
Eng. Hijjawi spoke directly with the students about their professional aspirations, stressing the importance of having a clear vision, setting goals, and working diligently and persistently to achieve them. “Anything is possible—but we must know what we want,” he said. He emphasized the Faculty’s pivotal role in advancing the national engineering sector by preparing graduates who can compete locally and globally.
Dean Alzubaidi also highlighted the Faculty’s commitment to strengthening its ties with alumni and supporting institutions, as this positively impacts graduate readiness for the job market.
The visit included a tour of the Faculty's Career Development Unit, showcasing the services and programs it provides in training and professional preparation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, which was attended by several faculty and administrative members, students expressed their appreciation for such inspirational encounters. They noted how engaging with a successful and motivational figure boosted their enthusiasm and broadened their outlook on the future.
