About the Department
Established in 2013, the Department of Architectural Engineering at the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology, Yarmouk University, is committed to cultivating creative and forward-thinking architects equipped to address the evolving needs of contemporary society. The department offers a Bachelor in Architectural Engineering degree program, designed to balance architectural theory, design innovation, and technical proficiency.
Our academic program emphasizes creativity, sustainability, and responsiveness to local and global architectural contexts. The curriculum is carefully tailored to align with the cultural, environmental, and societal demands of Jordan while incorporating international best practices and technological advancements in architecture and urban design.
The department is supported by a dedicated team of faculty members with diverse academic backgrounds and professional expertise. Their active engagement in research, practice, and community-oriented projects enhances the learning experience and helps students build a strong foundation in both design and technical competencies.
With access to specialized design studios, modeling labs, and digital tools, students are encouraged to explore, experiment, and realize their architectural visions through hands-on learning. The department also fosters connections with the architecture and construction industries, promoting internships, collaborative projects, and exposure to real-world challenges.
Through its integrated approach to education, the Department of Architectural Engineering prepares graduates to become innovative professionals capable of shaping functional, sustainable, and aesthetically inspiring built environments in Jordan and beyond.
