About the Program

The Master in Construction Engineering and Management degree program at the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology, Yarmouk University, was established in 2024 to address the growing demand for professionals who can combine advanced technical expertise with effective project management skills. The program is designed to bridge the gap between engineering and management, preparing graduates to lead and innovate in the planning, design, and execution of construction projects.

The construction industry in Jordan and across the Middle East is undergoing significant growth, fueled by large-scale infrastructure projects and an increasing emphasis on sustainability. This evolving landscape offers promising career opportunities for graduates in both the public and private sectors, spanning areas such as structural design, construction supervision, sustainability consulting, and risk management.

The curriculum provides a strong foundation in structural engineering, modern construction methods, and advanced project management practices. Students develop essential competencies in cost estimation, scheduling, contract administration, quality control, and the integration of sustainable construction techniques. Emphasis is placed on practical learning and problem-solving, ensuring students are well-prepared to address real-world challenges in the construction field.

To accommodate different career goals, the program offers two study tracks:

  • Thesis Track: Focuses on scientific research and is suitable for students who wish to pursue doctoral studies or engage in applied research in construction engineering and management.

  • Non-Thesis Track: Includes additional coursework and is designed for professionals aiming to enhance their practical and managerial skills to assume leadership roles in the construction industry.

Graduates of this program are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to lead complex construction projects and drive innovation in a dynamic and competitive sector. The program supports Yarmouk University’s mission to contribute to national development through advanced education, research, and professional training aligned with the needs of the construction industry.
